What it takes

Ability to caption at a minimum rate of 180 to 300 words per minute with a high level of accuracy; proficient knowledge of court reporting steno equipment, real-time software, and computer systems; continuous and diligent maintenance of steno dictionary that enables accurate translations; maintaining standards of client confidentiality. Formal training in court reporting and steno methods with graduation from the accredited court reporting program at Bryan University with Associate Degree in Court Reporting Science. Ten years’ experience providing real-time captioning and CART services.
